Promotion Info

Our promotion system is based on demonstrated knowledge and ability, not on position held. Only four unit positions have a fixed rank associated with them: The Cadet Commanding Officer (C/CDR), the Cadet Executive Officer (C/LCDR) the Cadet Operations Officer (C/LT), and the Cadet Administrative Officer (C/LTJG). All other Cadets wear the rank to which they have earned promotion to.

1) Time elapsed since most recent promotion

2) Naval & General Knowledge Test Score

3) Drill Knowledge and Skill (cadets not on a drill team are given a separate drill test)

4) Community / Unit Service Hours

5) Good conduct, School GPA, and Weekly Inspection Performance

6) Positive recommendations from the cadet's Chain Of Command may accelerate promotion.
