Signpost: Quoted Words
Purpose: Generate an overview of Erosion on the Cape; determine the author's purpose in offering 4 different individuals (perspectives) to quote; idenifty the scope and severity of the erosion problem.
Method: Who Says/Who Is/Says What Chart; students worked in groups to ID the speaker, the speaker's job or role, and paraphrase what the speaker said in own words to present to class (spoken assuming persona of speaker).
