In order to be considered for the cast of Chicago: Teen Edition, students need to complete all three components of the audition, which include:
Acting (Monologue)
Dancing
Singing (Vocal)
Before auditioning, please review the list of characters in the show and read through the page, "How We Cast a Show," for more information about the casting process.
Dance auditions for Chicago: Teen Edition, will take place on Saturday, September 6th from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. in the Mini Theater. To the dance auditions, students should wear clothes in which they can move and jazz or tennis shoes.
Monologue and vocal auditions will be held in-person on Monday, September 8th from 2:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. and Tuesday, September 9th from 2:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. in the high school Choir Room.
For these auditions, you need to prepare the following:
A one-minute monologue of your choice from a play or musical OR one of the suggested monologues from Chicago: Teen Edition.
Two of the provided vocal excerpts from Chicago: Teen Edition, unless you are ONLY interested in an ensemble role. If you are only interested in an ensemble role, please prepare the "ALL AUDITIONEES + ENSEMBLE EXCERPT."
During your appointment time with the directors, you will perform your monologue and the Chicago: Teen Edition song(s). At the beginning of your audition, we ask that you slate with the following information:
Name
Grade
Titles of the pieces you are performing. For example, "I am performing a monologue from Chicago: Teen Edition and an excerpt from the songs Roxie and We Both Reached for the Gun."
Names of the characters you are portraying
Students will need to sign up for an audition time slot on one of the two days.

Remember, you only need to schedule an appointment on one of the two days.
We encourage students to fill the appointments on Monday before scheduling on Tuesday.
Please plan to arrive to the "I" building at least 15 minutes before your time slot begins.
The following forms are required for auditions:

Parent / Guardian and Student Expectations Sheet -- (Print and Sign or email to lemberg.1@napls.us)
On the day of your monologue / vocal audition, fill out the audition form with all of the requisite information. Performers must bring their signed forms -- Parent / Student Participation Agreement, Parent / Guardian and Student Expectations Sheet -- to either their dance or monologue / vocal auditions or email them to Mr. Lemberg.
If a student does not turn in ALL REQUIRED auditions forms by September 10th, they will not be considered for the cast of Chicago: Teen Edition.
Callbacks are scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th from 2:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. The callback list will be posted after the conclusion of the monologue / vocal auditions on Tuesday, September 19th. Students will be called back to read scenes from the musical and/or to sing a different vocal part.
The directors would recommend familiarizing yourself with the script for Chicago: Teen Edition before the auditions.
