Varsity Sideline:
The goal of our sideline cheerleading teams are to promote school spirit on and off the field, to support our high school athletic teams, and to build well-rounded athletes. During the fall season team members cheer on the Varsity Football, Varsity Boys Soccer, Varsity Girls Soccer, and Varsity Volleyball teams. In addition they perform in local parades, prepare for multiple school performances and participate in the Great Minnesota Cheer Off.
STMA has a Varsity Game Day team that will compete in 6 local competitions and attend the NHSCC in Orlando, Florida. This team has a maximum of 23 sideline cheerleaders placed on the team and competes in a Game Day Non-Tumbling Division. The team competes with a Band Chant, Situational Chant, Time Out Cheer, and our School Song.
STMA has a Junior Varsity Game Day team that will compete in 7 local competitions. This team was added new in 2023 as an option for our Middle School and JV Cheerleaders to be involved in all aspects of cheerleading. The team competes with a Band Chant, Situational Chant, Time Out Cheer, and our School Song.
STMA has a Varsity competitive cheer team that will compete in 9 local competitions and attend the NHSCC in Orlando, Florida. All of the team members are also part of the sideline cheer program. The competitive cheer team is offered through STMA Community Education and is open to students in grades 8-12. Tryouts take place in April of each year.
STMA has a JV competitive cheer team that will compete in 9 local competitions and possibly the NHSCC in Orlando, FL. The competitive cheer team is offered through STMA Community Education and is open to students in grades 7-12. Tryouts take place in April of each year.
STMA has a Middle School Traditional Competitive Team and Middle School Game Day cheer team that will compete in 7 local competitions. The competitive cheer team are offered through STMA Community Education and is open to students in grades 5-9. The traditional team starts practices in August and will practice twice a week August - October and once a week November - January. The Game Day team starts practice in September and practices once a week. Tryouts take place in April of each year.
STMA has TWO Traditional Elementary competitive cheer teams and NEW IN 2024-25 we have an Elementary Game Day Team that will compete in 4-6 local competitions. The competitive cheer teams are offered through STMA Community Education and are open to students in grades K-6. The teams practices once a week. Elementary Blue begins in August and Elementary Gold and White begin in September. Tryouts for these teams happen in April each year.
