Ready Player One

Ready Player One is a science fiction novel written, by Ernest Cline, which made it's debut in 2011.

Ready Player One is a book about a dystopian future in which people are spending most of their free time in a virtual world called The OASIS (Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation) to escape from reality.

In the novel, the OASIS's creator, James Halliday, decided to pass all his wealth, including total control over The OASIS to whoever finds a hidden easter egg in his game. This brang lots of attention to his game and spawned a huge group of people who are dedicating their lives to finding this easter egg, One of which is the novel's main protagonist, Wade Watts.
