Reading Mastery

The reading program we will be using this year in Title 1 is called Reading Mastery. You have been your child's first teacher and have given such an important start to the learning process. Research tells us when the family works with a child on schoolwork and becomes involved in the child's learning the child makes better progress. Helping your child with schoolwork will make a big difference!

Your child will be learning many new beginning reading and language skills in Reading Mastery. You'll be so proud as your child moves from the very beginning stages of reading to confidently reading simple stories and sentences.

At the end of every tenth lesson, I'll be sending home the Reading Mastery home letters to give you helpful information on topics you can work on at home with your child. Topics will include:

• Language skills and information your child has been learning
• Letters, sounds, and vocabulary words to review
• A fun activity to help your child learn at home
