Listenwise Routine
Nonfiction Routine - Here are directions for how to be most successful when working with nonfiction. Your weekly work with nonfiction will be based on the Three Big Nonfiction Questions:
What surprised me?
What did the author think I already know?
What challenged, changed, or confirmed what I already knew?
**Note: We will listen to Listenwise selections and read nonfiction articles throughout the year.
Monday/Step 1 (Day 1): Set up notes on a provided organizer. Listen/Read one time through without taking notes.Â
Tuesday/Step 2(Day 2): Listen/read and take notes on the organizer you have been provided or have set up. Pause as you listen to be sure you take thorough/thoughtful notes.
Wednesday/Step 3(Day 3): Listen to/read the selection again and review your notes. Try to add to your notes.
Thursday/Step 4(Day 4): Listen to/read and take the quiz or answer the follow up questions. Your time on the quiz/questions should not be less than 5 minutes. Have your notes available.
