What are citizenship grades and how do I earn this grade?

The citizenship grades are as follows:

O = Outstanding

S = Satisfactory

N = Needs improvement

U = Unsatisfactory

What counts for citizenship?

  1. Turning work in on time.

  2. Getting to class AND school on time.

  3. Being prepared for class.

  4. Making good use of class time.

  5. Participating in class discussion.

  6. Being kind to others.

  7. Demonstrating KSRR behavior.

  8. Bringing necessary materials to class daily.

To earn an O (outstanding) in citizenship:

  1. Exemplary effort

  2. Attentive to classroom instruction/rules

-No earbuds unless directed to use them

-Phone is turned off and put away

-Student is on apps/websites as directed

  1. Follows directions

  2. Participates frequently in group/class discussion by either contributing ideas or actively listening.

  3. Has all required classroom materials as directed/expected including laptop charger.

  4. Laptop is charged and ready to use for the day.

  5. Shows exemplary KSRR behavior and follows the PBIS grid in class and out on campus during lunch and nutrition.

  6. Student follows classroom specific rules as determined by the classroom teacher (science lab materials and PE equipment used as directed).

To earn an S (satisfactory) in citizenship:

*Students need occasional reminders to follow 2 - 8 but are quick to follow reminders and situations do not escalate.

  1. Shows effort in class most of the time.

  2. Mostly Attentive to classroom instruction/rules

-No earbuds unless directed to use them

-Phone is turned off and put away

-Student is on apps/websites as directed

  1. Follows directions

  2. Participates less in group/class discussion by either contributing ideas or actively listening.

  3. Has all required classroom materials as directed/expected including laptop charger.

  4. (Laptop is charged and ready to use for the day.)

  5. Shows KSRR behavior and follows the PBIS grid in class and out on campus during lunch and nutrition.

  6. Student follows classroom specific rules as determined by the classroom teacher (science lab materials and PE equipment used as directed)

To earn an N in citizenship:

*Students need frequent reminders to follow 2 - 8. Even with reminders and intervention, behavior slow to or does not improve.

  1. Inconsistent effort in class.

  2. Inconsistent attention to classroom instruction/rules

-No earbuds unless directed to use them

-Phone is turned off and put away

-Student is on apps/websites as directed

  1. Does not follows directions

  2. Inconsistently or lacks participation in group/class discussion by either contributing ideas or actively listening.

  3. Missing required classroom materials as directed/expected including laptop charger.

  4. (Laptop is NOT charged and ready to use for the day.)

  5. Does NOT show KSRR behavior and follow the PBIS grid in class and/or out on campus during lunch and/or nutrition.

  6. Student does not follow classroom specific rules as determined by the classroom teacher (science lab materials and PE equipment used as directed)

  7. Student engages in academic dishonesty by either giving or getting plagiarized information.

To earn an U in citizenship:

*Students need frequent reminders to follow 2 - 8. Even with reminders, intervention, and parent involvement behavior does not improve or shows minimal improvement.
