Select any short story from the textbook you took home at the beginning of the school year.

Use that story to complete the following ACTIVE Reading tasks:

A: List 3 questions that occur to you as you read.

C: Find two connections between this text and yourself OR another text OR the world.

T: Track down information about the SETTING (where and/or when) of the story.

I: Make one inference, using the sentence frame from our Reading Journal.

V: Draw a single sketch of any moment from the story.

E: Explain a THEME of the story, using at least one piece of specific evidence.

Complete this task on loose-leaf paper (not in your Interactive Notebook) and submit in the first week back.
