Organizational Skills

Welcome to Organizational Skills! As a class we are just settling in and will be focusing on organization. What does that look like for each student? What system will work best and how can we regularly maintain this system? in OS our group discussion topic will surround the notion of positive self talk.We will be exploring the challenge faced by many students and adults alike to stay positive in times of difficulty and stress.Students will continue to work individually on course competencies and seek out support in its various forms.

September 23rd and 24th is HOMECOMING! This weekend will be filled with exciting sports, activities and community! Please come and be a part of the fun!

September 19-29

These next two weeks students in OS will be focusing on the role of communication. The essential questions that we will explore are: Am I an effective communicator? Can I use original and flexible thinking to communicate my ideas? Understanding what our teachers expectations are and having our teachers understand us is a critical step in academic and life success.

September 25- October 13

Students in OS are continuing with their exploration of effective communication. Identifying 3 types of listening: *Appreciation, *Information, and *Understanding helps us to organize how we listen. On October 3rd, all freshman will participate in the first in our vocational series through Granite State Independent Living and New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation. Please stay tuned for more information.:)

October 16- 31

In Organizational Skills we continue to build self advocacy skills. Students are becoming more comfortable advocating for themselves and voicing their needs to their teachers. We have completed our first Career Interest Survey and the results have been at times, surprising! As always, we continue to work on our individual academics, build our listening skills and collaborate with our peers.
