how to log in

• Log into the CS lab Macs with the same username and password you use elsewhere on campus.

• The first time you log in, it may take a couple of minutes. Don't worry, this is normal.

• New for Fall 2022: you can save files locally (in Desktop, Documents, etc) and they will be there next time you log in. However, this only works if you log into the exact same computer!

• Our labs can get crowded, so don't rely on getting the same computer you used last time. Save your files on athena or other network storage so that you can get to them from anywhere.

• Your professor or lab instructor will show you how to save your assignments on the fileserver.

  • Always log out when you're finished using a lab computer.

  • Never walk away from a computer you're logged into!
