Participating Libraries
You can obtain kits via walk in loan for a one week period at the following libraries:
This is as many libraries as we can handle at present. If you are a college or university or other educational institution and would like to run a chemistry adventure program with your nearby libraries, email us and we can help get you started.
The library benefits are:
Getting all our K-2 and 3-6 kits to let parent/child team patrons participate in this program as well as a refill kit and prizes for when teams complete kits.
Our web site also has a Games page linking games through which middle and high school students could continue their adventures.
The library responsibilities are:
Cataloging the kits and being responsible for the check out process. A one week loan period is ideal. Reporting total number of kit checkouts to our Email at the end of each school year.
Having some shelf space for the kits. There are 20 kits. The size of each kit is 7.375''L x 5.625''W x 6''H.
Being able to store a refill container in an area not accessible to everyone. This container would be of size 26.375" L x 16.000" W x 12.125"H.
Refilling the chemistry kits as needed using the refill container provided and the guide on each kit.
Having parents sign the linked form prior to obtaining permission to check out Passport to Chemistry Adventure kits. Filing the signed linked forms at the local library.
Taking away kit borrowing privileges from a patron when there are two occurrences of missing or damaged items and the patron does not assist in the restoration of the items.
Alerting parents to the prizes that kids can earn and distributing prizes.
Filling out this form to let us know what needs to be replenished (ideally group these into just two instances each year so we can send you several items together).
Please print this page and/or provide a link to it to your local library. Email if you and your library are interested in helping us expand.
