What are the strengths and weaknesses of the instructor?
Primary strength is preparedness. Primary weakness is positivity.
Daniel's enthusiasm for the topic and ensuring our understanding of the material was evident. He clearly explained the content and used a liberal amount of examples. He was also always available to provide additional help and responded to all my emails very quickly. At times in the semester, he covered material slower than I would have liked.
there are no weaknesses for this man. Strengths: everything
Great at presenting the material in an enjoyable way. This makes it much easier to learn and show up to lectures.
He was really passionate about his teaching which made it really easy to want to go to class and learn. He very clearly explains information. He also is good at simplifying information so it is easier to explain. He's good about emailing back.
The instructor genuinely cares about students learning
I cannot stress this enough: This guy knows Statistics to the core
Strengths: always organized, followed his powerpoints (that we’re accessible to us) but went in depth on each slide and showed us thorough examples. Only weakness: goes pretty fast
strenghts- work in grading every assignment, passion for the class weakness- the way he gives notes is not useful for the class because he has the numbers memorized so you are either hearing what he is saying or righting down what he is. If he wishes to use not only examples written but needing a mixture of verbal notes, the board work needs to be more accessible after class
What suggestions do you have for improving the quality of instruction?
Be more positive!
I would suggest covering the material at the beginning of the semester quicker (some of it was review from high school math courses) and spending more time on the content in the other two-thirds of the course.
The instruction was really good. not sure if there is any way to improve
None.
More examples
More examples and include include the work for examples in powerpoints in case we miss a class or want to review
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the course?
Weakness is back-loaded, strength is assignments
Strengths- I feel like I understand very well the planning that goes into a design of experiment. Weaknesses- We glossed over some of the mathematical background of the big picture topics, such as how to calculate sum of squares in ANOVA. The course seemed to rely on our having access to JMP. I have been expected to calculate sum of squares values and analyze data from DOEs in my department lab courses without JMP, either by hand or with Excel.

I like how the course builds up to being able to complete the final project.
An optional final is very nice
Weakness: will probably never use statistics this complicated in my career
weakness- there is no pre-requisite for having taken a previous stats class, so when never having any experience of stats in college nor high school- I had no idea what probability was and the way the course skimmed through it, if you had not learned it before, then you weren't learning enough about it then to actually understand what probability is.
What suggestions do you have for course improvement?
I would suggest adding more content, particularly on how to analyze data without JMP. It would also be nice to spend more time discussing Weibull distributions. On co-op, my team of engineers routinely used Weibulls and I was hoping to better understand them.
Daniel was amazing. best professor I have had for a math heavy class with the exception of Runnion. Daniel was a just great instructor and I enjoyed being in his class.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of the instructor?
The instructor cares about the students. He will stop in a lecture and ask if he needs to slow down or go back over material if he sees people getting distracted. He will often tell the class where he has seen common mistakes in the past and makes sure to explain the process very well. He really shows enthusiasm for the students to succeed in this course. He was strict about deadlines but would send several reminders when he needed to so that students had no reason to miss an assignment.
I really enjoyed Dr. Alhassan. Was a big fan of class participation before corona. Dr. Alhassan has some of the most in-depth explanations on course material that I have seen at S&T. I will be coming out of this class an expert in statistics.
I enjoyed this professor. I could tell that he was passionate about the subject. I could also tell that he genuinely cared about the students learning experience.
This instructor is really good at providing examples to illustrate the concepts covered. However, he moves very slowly through the material and it was sometimes hard to understand the point he was trying to make.
Strengths - He is able to break down each step of longer problems in a way that is easy to follow and understand Weaknesses - none
What suggestions do you have for improving the quality of instruction?
Overall, the instruction was excellent. The only issue I see is with the transition to online. I think it would have been more beneficial to have had live lectures rather than prerecorded lectures, but that's more of a personal preference.
Keep it exactly as it is
I think it would be better if the instructor moved a little more quickly through the concepts and then provided a class period or two to work on the project report towards the end of the semester.
Spend more time going over material that could potentially be True/False questions on exams. Questions like that are rarely asked on homework so they aren't often practiced, and even though I knew the concepts of this class fairly well I always felt like those questions stumped me.
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the course?
Very good instruction.
Course has a lot of useful information that allows an individual to run their own statistical studies outside of class. The project is easy and allows us to further develop the skills taught in lecture.
At first I was confused about why I was required to take this class. Now I see that this class could be extremely useful in engineering. I am glad that I took this class. I learned a lot.
The course's tests and homework assignments are reflective of the material covered in the class. However, I feel like between the written homework assignments, WileyPlus homework, and quizzes assigned, the course had more assignments than what was needed to help us understand the material.
Strengths - Applicable to real life situations Weaknesses - None
What suggestions do you have for course improvement?

Pretty fine course. No complaints
Making a few more example problems available would be helpful when studying.
Assign less homework and focus more on giving us time to do the final project.
