Jean Enyeart grew up outside Milwaukee and began taking piano lessons in 2nd grade. She began playing oboe in 6th grade, as well as started singing in church and school choirs. In high school, she became deeply involved in the arts participating in band, choir, jazz band, vocal jazz, drama, piano lessons, voice lessons, oboe lessons, and forensics (in addition to running track and cross country). She has performed in many musicals, and several operas in both high school and college.
In 2002, she graduated in choral music education from UW-Stevens Point and began teaching 6-8 choral and general music at Menomonie Middle School. She also coaches MMS Forensics and Directs the MMS Spring Play. Jean is currently the Adult Choir Director at Peace Lutheran Church and teaches private piano and voice lessons from her home. She has also played in many pit orchestras and served as Pit Director for UW-Stout and Musical director for Menomonie Theater Guild. Jean is a member of the National Association for Music Education and the American Choral Directors Association. She also serves as a member of the Wisconsin State Music Association Concert Festival Committee.
Jean Enyeart lives with her wonderful husband, daughter (Eleanor), son (Maxwell), two dogs (coton de tulears) and a cat.
Her goals are to educate and promote vocal excellence and spread a love of music to her students, teaching them to express themselves through the amazing experience of choral singing. She hopes students gain confidence and learn how to work hard, struggle, and discover success. Ultimately, she hopes students will continue their music involvement into high school and beyond.
