Websites to look up YOUR songs online:
Ultimate-guitar.com, type "song you're looking for ukulele chords" in the website search bar for best results
If that doesn't turn up what you need Google "song you're looking for ukulele chords" - there's plenty out there
Youtube is a great resource, just include "ukulele tutorial" or similar item in the search

My student wants to own a ukulele and play at home!
What do they need?
A ukulele
A physically safe, temperate place to store it - hot and cold are unhealthy for instruments
A tuner (can be purchased or free apps on your phone/tablet work just as well)
Extra strings (at some point, they may break eventually)
Sheet music which can be found on this website or other online sources
Cost + quality considerations:
If it looks like a toy it probably sounds like a toy (i.e. plastic, super colorful)
You don't have to get top of the line, but maybe cheapest isn't best
You can get bundles to help save by buying items together
The Makala MK-S model which we have been using in class will run you about $50
"Soprano" ukulele is what we have been working with, "concert" is generally more expensive
Where to buy?
North Conway Music Center is a great local resource, even with a ukulele club on Thursday evenings!
Friendly River Music in Cornish, ME is a strings-based shop and offers lifetime maintenance on purchases made in their shop - an amazing deal.
You can browse Amazon or use the links I have provided above to Amazon to the items we have used in class
In general, I would avoid purchasing a ukulele through a non-dedicated music shop. You are more likely to end up in toy territory.
