Welcome to Mrs. Robinson's Social Studies web page. I am going to try to keep you updated as to what is going on in Social Studies Class.
I do not give much "Homework"- usually students are given time in class to start an assignment (and ask questions if they are stuck). Many will complete the assignment in the allotted time, but some may need to finish it at home. That said- I do expect work to be turned in on time. Studying/Reviewing information is ALWAYS a great option for homework- even when it is not specifically assigned.
Students can retake quizzes as many times as they would like until they get the grade that they would like. WIN, after school, and during lunch are good times to retake quizzes. Quizzes are ways to practice mastery of content.
Tests and other summative assessments (projects)- students will have the opportunity to "fix" their mistakes for more credit (though not full credit). This will be up to them to take that initiative.
When students are missing multiple or high point assignments, I may ask them to come to see me during WIN time or to stay after school for some extra ATTention (not DEtention).
Students need to bring their chromebook to class EVERY DAY. They should make sure it is charged and in working order. I do have a few loaner chromebooks for emergency situations but not enough for every student.
I try to be really good about getting grades into Alma.
I sometimes make mistakes with numbers, please let me know if you see an error.
I used Zeros (0) as place holders. This lets a student know that if they do not complete an assignment, it will have an negative impact on their grade. They can "fix" that zero at any time before a quarter closes.
