Basic Math content changes each year based on the needs and interests of the students in the class.
For 2018-2019, we will be focusing on math skills necessary to be successful after high school. We will discus and set up budgets, based on different hourly wage amounts. We will do a year-long checking account simulation. We will work on problem solving, for example if you have $20 and gas is $2.659 per gallon, how many gallons of gas can you buy? And if your car gets 24 miles to the gallon, how many miles will you be able to drive on that amount of gas? And if your round trip to work is 35 miles, how many days will you be able to drive to and from work before you need more gas?
