International Lions Club Peace Poster Contest

The Thurmont Lions Club is sponsoring the International Lions Club Peace Poster Contest again this year. The Poster Contest is open to Middle School Students in the 6th-8th Grades who were born between November 16, 2007, and November 15th 2010and who will be 11, 12, or 13 on November 15, 2021.

The theme of the Peace Poster is “We Are All Connected”.

The student’s artwork must be original, have artistic merit, and express the theme.

The Artwork must be no smaller than 13 x20 inches (33 x 50 cm) and no larger than 20 x 24 inches (50 x 60 cm) and not be matted. All media is accepted, but cannot be three-dimensional and nothing may be glued, stapled or attached to the artwork. Chalk, charcoal, or pastel works must be sprayed with fixative=spray to prevent smearing. Artwork must be able to be rolled up to fit into a tube for transport and shipping.

Completed artworks will be due by

October 27th, 2021, and judged by the Thurmont Lions Club before November 15, 2021 The winner will receive a prize and the poster will advance to the District Governor. Honorable mentions will receive certificates and all will be featured in the local newspaper highlighting their artistic talent.

The grand prize for the International Lions Club Poster Contest is $5000 and a trip to the awards ceremony. Twenty-three merit winners will receive $500 and a certificate of honorable mention,
