Auskick Registration 2020

Auskick

NAB AFL Auskick is the best introduction for kids into the world of Australian Football. Auskickers run, jump, kick, pass and have fun while learning the basics of football. No matter if you know the game or not, Auskick at the Mosman Swans is inclusive for everyone aged no younger than turning 5 in 2020, and no older than 8 in 2020. If your child is older than 8 and is interested in Auskick, please send us an email to discuss.

One hour sessions are held once a week between April and August.

Due to planned works by Mosman Council at Allan Border Oval in 2020, at this stage we are unable to confirm the day/time for Auskick. We will let everyone know as soon as possible what the plans are for 2020.

Auskick in 2020 will be divided into three groups.

4-5 year olds– skills are taught through a series of fun games and drills by volunteer parent coaches/assistants

6-7 year olds– skills continue to be taught through drills, with the introduction of game play to prepare children for junior football. This is a safe, no tackle game.

Girls– there will be an opportunity for girls to join a dedicated girls group for all ages, to increase confidence and feed into our U10 girls team.

For further information about the Auskick program, please visit the AFL Auskick website

As part of the Auskick program, there is the option for 7 year old boys and girls to play in a home and away U8s competition. Further information will be provided about this at the start of the season.

Parent involvement

Auskick is a parent volunteer run program. It is expected that all parents will join in with activities and assist with games and drills. The success of the program and the enjoyment of the children rests on the level of parent involvement achieved – please expect to be part of each session if you register your child to play. You don’t need to know anything about AFL – information to support parents is available online and through our club contacts.

Uniforms and other gear

The AFL supplies Auskickers with a welcome pack with a ball and various other promotional items, sent directly to your postal address.

Mosman Swans has an online shop where club uniform can be purchased – this is not compulsory for Auskick, but is compulsory to play U8s. Visit the online shop.

Please note, this is the only place to buy uniforms.
