MOSMAN girls went head-to-head before Sunday's Greater Western Sydney Giants v Adelaide Crows game at Skoda Stadium.

Queenwood School for Girls and Mosman Swans clashed for premiership points in the AFL Youth Girls Competition.

Queenwood won a hard-fought contest 40 to 8 with standout performances from NSW players Nicky Barr and Maddy Duncan.

The teams were treated to a quarter-time address from GWS coach Kevin Sheedy and formed the guard of honour for Giants players.

Swans coach Michelle McKinnon said the chance to play at Skoda Stadium was a great opportunity to promote women's football.

"The future of women's footy is very exciting, and the girls who played today are keen to be part of that future," she said.

Queenwood are undefeated after two matches.

The school's director of sports Daniel Kozey said the girls loved the physicality of the game.

"They love to show a private schoolgirls' team can be just as tough as the boys," he said.
