About Miss Wachtler
I took over English 12 in MHS room A107 from legendary teacher Claude Dzuik in 1990 and have been in the same room, with the same desk, ever since. At first, all seniors took English 12, but we added Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition in 1998, giving students a choice in their senior year language arts requirement. In 2022, we began a new chapter, as the advanced courses we now offer earn college credit through Minnesota West.
Over the years, I have advised or assisted with prom, yearbook, senior class officers, fall plays, and spring musicals. I have also continued Mr. Dzuik's tradition of bringing seniors to Minneapolis/St. Paul to see live theater.
My personal interests include travel, theater, reading, and writing novels. In this picture, I am meeting one of my favorite authors, Patrick Rothfuss, at the 2015 Nerdcon: Stories convention in Minneapolis. He signed our MHS library's copy of The Name of the Wind.
