Creation Myths

Creation Myths are a commonality in all cultures.

From the ancient Hopi people and their "Four Creators" myth, to the Hebraic myth centering on Yahweh's construction of the world, every culture and society has stories which are told and retold and help shape the collective understanding of community. Together, in class, we will examine both the Hellenic (Greek) and the Hebraic (Jewish) creation myths. Then, you will work in groups to read and deconstruct another culture's creation myth.

Creation Myths from Around the World is the source I will be using for the separate, individual creation myths you will be reading on Friday.
