What would Sentinel look like for me?

The Sentinel Career & Technology Center serves the students of Mohawk High School. Students spend 3 hours per day at Sentinel and will receive three credits per year for their career program. The students will attend Mohawk for the remainder of each day, where they will receive their necessary academic instruction. Transportation is provided by Mohawk. All Mohawk students will be eligible for any and all extracurricular activities at their home school.

Sentinel students gain first-hand knowledge of real-life careers through paid and volunteer work experience, internships, mentoring, and other career-focused activities.  College Credit Plus (CCP) classes are embedded in the curriculum of most programs, allowing students to earn transcripted college credits while still in high school with the exception of Independent Living and the Nails/Esthetics programs.

Students will graduate and receive a diploma from Mohawk High School. With successful completion of the Sentinel program, they will also receive an industry credential.  Students can also earn an Ohio Means Jobs Seal and/or an Industry Central Seal for their graduation requirements.

Sentinel Career and Technology Center Programs

Students must complete an application that can be obtained online through Sentinel Career and Technology Center's website, see the link above.   Students must meet program prerequisites. The application deadline is late February.   When a student applies to a Sentinel Career & Technology Center program, he/she and his/her parents/guardians are making a commitment to obtain technical skills needed for entry-level employment by business and industry or to further their education at a post-secondary institution. Students who are accepted into the programs make a commitment to attend that program. Descriptions of each program can be found in the Mohawk Program of Studies.
