Dear Cubs,
A few important matters for us to note even as we stand down for Term 1.
1) Submit DJC Cards
The Diamond Jubilee Fundraising period is over. For Cubs who have yet to submit your DJC Cards, please pass them to any Scouts teacher in school this coming week.
2) Confirm Akela Application
All P5/P6 Cubs must confirm if they are going for Akela in 2024 by Wednesday 6 Mar. Please submit the hardcopy form signed by your parents indicating if you will or will not be making a concerted effort to obtain the Akela Award this year. Mr Lai and Ms Lee need to complete the registration with Scouts HQ on Wednesday 6 Mar 5PM.
3) Digital Citizen Badge (Q1 Diamond Jubilee Challenge)
All Cubs are to complete the SLS Package and fulfill the 4 sets of criteria to obtain the Digital Citizenship Badge + DJC Q1 Challenge Badge. It's 2 in 1! So why not? Use eLearning Day and your March Holidays to do so.
4) Prepare for 3R Car Derby and Mind Quiz
Cubs who have signed up for the above competitions, please do your necessary preparation before we meet in Term 2. The competition day is 23 Mar! 3R Car Derby teams should have their cars ready to race and Mind Quiz teams should be ready for competition when we meet for final preparation during the Pack Meeting on 22 Mar.
Dear P6 Cubs going for Adiji Chief Scout on Saturday,
Please wear PE attire for Pack Meeting tomorrow 1 March.

Cheers!
Dear Cubs,
Do note the following reminders that were briefed at the last Pack Meeting:

Our P5s are deep into their First Aid Proficiency Badge and will be running the school's First Aid Booths during the Total Defence Day commemoration on 6 Feb.
Our P4s have succeeded in cooking their first meal using their mess tins and tommy stoves.
Well done Cubs! Continue to DO YOUR BEST in your various endeavours both in and out of the Pack.
Dear Cubs,
With the release of key dates from Scout HQ on 20 January, the teachers have tried our best to firm up the HQ events we will be going for for the year as well as the dates of our key unit events. Please refer to the slides below. Note that we will keep updating this document along the way.
Dear Cubs,

Dear Cubs,
This second Pack Meeting saw the commencement of our new Six Meetings where you get to meet the members of your Six for 15 minutes a week. Do follow the schedule designed by your Assistant Sixers and plan a meaningful activity when it is your turn to lead!
P4s! You are going full steam into your Silver Arrow activities. Work diligently. There will be more opportunities to lead, play and serve this year as you gain confidence in the Pack.
P5s! Take your First Aid Proficiency Badge seriously. It is one of the key requirements for the Akela Award.
P6s! Cherish your final 14 Pack Meetings as a Cub Scout. You have a rigorous Passing Out Challenge planned for you, with your VIA activity with Sparkletots being the first upcoming challenge on 2 Feb. Do your best!
Cheers!
Dear Cubs,
The Term 1 Schedule has been sent to your parents on PG. You can also find it in the Termly Schedule section.
We have an exciting 2024 coming up! See you at our first Pack Meeting on 12 January.
Happy New Year!
Dear Cubs,
With the conclusion of the P1 Orientation this afternoon, all Scout activities for 2023 have officially ended. Thank you for your hard work and contributions throughout the year. The teachers hope that your Scouting journey has been fun and meaningful and that you have grown a little over the course of the year.
Some of you should spend your December holidays to work on your Progressive and Proficiency Badges. Specifically,
1) Current P4s and P5s Aiming for the Akela Award in 2024
The teachers have spoken to you and the SLS package for Gold Arrow has been shared with you. Do use the resources to help you get started on the various requirements for Gold Arrow. Also remember to complete 6 Proficiency Badges. This way, when we meet in 2024, we can complete the remaining Akela requirements (namely First Aid Proficiency Badge, Sharing Together) and also complete the documentation required. Feel free to email your teachers (Mr Lai or Ms Lee) should you need more guidance over the holidays.
2) New P4 Cubs Who Joined in 2023
You have done well to assimilate into the Pack and we are proud to have you on board with us. Mr Lai has briefed you on the resources shared with you on SLS. Do utilise them to make as much progress as you can on your Scout badges. This way, you stand a higher chance of catching up with and joining the rest of the P5s in 2024. Do email Mr Lai should you have any questions over the holidays.
Have a restful holiday spending time with friends and loved ones. The schedule for 2024 will be sent in the last week of December over Parent Gateway. The teachers have already completed our initial round of planning for a very exciting 2024!
See you! Cheers!

Were there any challenges/difficulties? How did you overcome them?
Our P6 Cubs got a surprise on Thursday when Mr Lai visited them in their classes to pass each of them a motivational tote bag. All the best for your PSLE P6s! Remember the Scout Promise and Law continues to be your guide even as you show courage in your quest to do your best in your studies!
We are the South Area Field Day Overall Champions!
Congratulations to our 25 Cubs who showed great athleticism, agility, skill and teamwork to perform well at the South Area Field Day.
We came in first in the Chariot and Sour Grape events, and second in the Telematch event. The combined efforts of all 25 Cubs also won us the Overall Champion trophy.
Beyond the medals, the teachers are proud of our Cubs for the sportsmanship they displayed. They cheered on their teammates and also the teams from other schools. They were happy to have won, but were not over-exuberant in their celebrations, mindful that there were other Cubs around them who may be disappointed with the results. Our Cubs also led themselves well at the various events, without the teachers having to intervene. Being champions in our character is so much more important! Well done CHSP!

See you at the Scouts Den during recess and do come prepared!
Dear Akela Applicants,
We have received information on the Akela Award Interaction Day. The good news is that CHSP is the hosting school so you will be doing the assessments and interview in a familiar place. Please refer to the information below.
Date: 13 May Saturday
Time: 0745 to 1230
Venue: Catholic High School Primary
Reporting Venue: CHSP Canteen
Attire: Cub Scouts Uniform
Format: Each Cub will be in a Six consisting of Cubs from various schools. The Six will have to work together to clear 3 stations.
Station 1: First Aid Proficiency Badge Skills

At this stage, we do believe that all our Akela Applicants are ready for the Interaction Day after their 3 - 4 years with us. However, the teachers will still meet with you at the end of the next Pack Meeting to give you some advise on how you can prepare. Remember: Scout HQ is looking for Cubs who embody the Scouting values as described in the Scout Promise and Law.
