Common Question:
Can I have a login and password for the exclusive use of the "self-checkout" mode?
Yes. First, create a patron group where members only have rights/access to self-checkout:
Go to "groups", create a new patron group, and call it "Self Checkout". In "circulation access" (the column to the left), set "access circulation" to "Yes". In the "operations" section, select "self mode". Make sure to click "OK" when done.
Second, create a user who is a member of this "self checkout" group:
Go to circulation; hover over "select action" (in the patron pane) and select "create a new user"
On the patron template,
First name (100#a field) type "Self Checkout"
Login name: type "self"
Password: type "self"
Group will be Self Checkout.
The user must sign in as self, then click on "circulation".
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once in this mode, you are locked; there is no "sign out". To return to the Catalog, you will need either to open another tab or a new instance of the library catalog.
