Come Join the Shaw Chorus!

Welcome back! Mr. Rollins is looking for new and returning members interested in singing in our elementary school chorus.

The chorus will perform during school assemblies in addition to the annual Spring Chorus Concert. Students will be notified in advance for additional community performances such as the tree-lighting for Millbury's Chain of Lights Festival.

The chorus rehearses every Wednesday and Friday before school from 7:15-8:00 A.M. in the music room.

Students are responsible for their own transportation. Car-pooling may be an additional option to consider for morning transportation.

The first chorus rehearsals will be Wednesday, September 20 and Friday, September 22. Please return chorus registration forms before the start of the first rehearsal.

Beginner Band Demonstration & Registration

Grade 5 students (as well as seriously interested grade 6 students) will be attending a band instrument demonstration on Wednesday, August 30th.

The instrument demonstration is being provided by the David French Music Co. of Westborough. At that time, students will receive a beginner band handbook which will further explain the band program including how to obtain an instrument and register for band.

Beginner Band registration forms are due no later than Thursday, September 7th.

Beginner Band Instrument Pick-up Night

For your convenience, a representative from the David French Music Co. will be at the R.E. Shaw School cafeteria on Thursday, September 7th @ 6:30 P.M. for the purpose of explaining the program and renting instruments.

One parent must be in attendance in order to sign the rental agreement and to pay for the first installment for the instrument rental, method book, and music stand.

If you have a conflict and are unable to attend on September 7th, please feel free to contact David French Music Co. (1-800-366-5993) to arrange an appointment to pick up your child's instrument.
Returning Band Students/Grade 6

Any student who participated in band through the end of the last school year should have received information on registering for band on Thursday, August 24th. 

Forms should be completed and returned by Wednesday, September 6th.
