I need to print what do I do?

All students are able to print from the computer labs. You will log into the computer and print as needed.

Labs are located in the HS and MS library. Also in the MS upstairs.

How do I get my wifi to work?

If your wifi is not working at school, turn your device completely off and restart it. If it is still not working, ask your teacher or friend to help you turn in an Fsticket to the help desk.

Why won't my Chromebook turn on?

Did you completely charge it? The chromebook has a light that will come on indicating it is charging and so does the charger. If it is charged, but still will not turn on, ask your teacher or friend to help you turn in an Fsticket to the help desk.

I can't log into Google Classroom

Make sure that you are logged into your milan school account.

I cannot get my email to work.

Make sure you are logged into your milan school account and that you have your wifi on.

I cannot get a site to open that everyone else in the class is using.

How do I submit an Fsticket?

Go to the Milan helpdesk site and click on the Fsticket site.

Make sure you put your name, the issue with the device, what class you are in right now, and the class you are going to next period. Then check back on the site for updates.

How do I get a loaner for the day?

Students submit an fsticket and then the Tech Tribe member will bring a short term loaner to their classroom. Or you walk to the Tech Area and check out a short term loaner. The loaner is checked out the same as a library book. The loaner will be picked up at the end of the day. It is your responsibility if it is not picked up that you walk it to the Middle School library before the school day is out.

How many loaners can I get in a semester for forgetting my device or not charging my chromebook?

You may get 1 loaner without any repercussions. All students may check out a loaner once in a 9 weeks in they have forgotten or not charged their device. The second time they have forgotten to charge their device or left their device at home they will be added to the repeat offenders list that is sent to Admin. Admin will speak with the student and the student will be made aware they will not be able to obtain a loaner from the library. Their name will be added to the library with a note stating student has exceeded the loaner requests for the 9 weeks. Their teachers will be made aware of the issue. Admin will let us know in individual situation for extenuating circumstances.

My chromebook is not working and I have submitted a Fsticket for it to be repaired? What next?

You will be issued a chromebook loaner for the day. As soon as your device is repaired, a friendly Tech Tribe member will bring your chromebook to you in your classroom that day. If your device is going to take longer than 1 day to fix, you will be issued a long term loaner within the next 48 hours to take home overnight. You are responsible for the care of the loaner the same as you are as your own chromebook. You can check on your chromebook by looking at your Fsticket. When your chromebook has been repaired, you will receive an email and a paper note letting you know that you need to bring your loaner device with the charger to the Tech area. Then you will pick up your repaired device.

I cracked my screen. Now what?

Turn in an fsticket and a Tech Tribe member will pick up your device and bring you a short term loaner for the day. Devices are usually fixed within 24 hours. If you have insurance, you will be charged the insurance fee. If you do not have insurance, you will be charged the full price of the screen repair. Devices can not be repaired if you owe any fees for prior damage. Your parent will need to make arrangements with Mrs. Jones in the Middle School office to set up a payment plan.

I lost my Chromebook and do not know what to do next.

Turn in an fsticket stating you’ve lost your chromebook. Then come down to the Tech Area where a friend Tech Tribe member will assist you in going to search for it in the last location you had your device. They will fill out a lost chromebook form and then send you to your principal to let them know your device is missing. If your device is not found or you believe it has been stolen while you were outside the school premises, refer to the Chromebook policy pages 6 & 7.

My wifi is not working at home what can I do?

Call your internet provider and troubleshoot ways to access your internet.

I can't find my document in Google Drive?

The most common occurrence when someone cannot find their document they have moved it to the trash. Check there first. If you need further assistance, turn in an Fsticket and a friendly Tech Tribe member will assist you.

I need to complete and print a form, grant, or college application.

Tips- Type your answers in a Google Doc so that you can spell check them and then copy and paste your answers into your application. (this way you don't lose your information if something unforeseen happens)

If you need to print, you will need to use a desktop from one of the computer labs. Fill out your form on a desktop. You can still use your chromebook to create the Google Document if you need time to be thoughtful, but use the computer lab when you are ready to fill out the real forms and print.

I am a new student. How long will it take to get my account account activated?

24-48 hours usually. When the student enrolls, our 5-Star technician creates the account. Then it will sync with the system, usually overnight. The student will be issued id's and passwords. They will receive a device and the first time they log in with their active account they need to log into a desktop at school. This will sync their GMail account, not a chromebook.
