About Us

Mrs. Doherty

I grew up in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. I am one of seven children. My mom and dad were both teachers as well.  I went to high school in Delaware. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire. I got my first teaching job in Barrington, New Hampshire.  I have been teaching at Madison Elementary School since  1993.  In my spare time, I like to hike, bike and flyfish with my family. We also enjoy skiing both cross-country and downhill.

Mrs. Stanley

I am excited to be teaching 3rd/4th grade at Madison Elementary School this year!  Let me tell you a little about myself.  My name is Kate Stanley. I came to teaching public school in a non-traditional way.  I began my teaching career about 16 years ago teaching multi-age preschool/kindergarten after receiving an associate's degree in early childhood education.  After teaching preschool for about 7 years, I took a position teaching toddlers (13 months to 3 years old) and directing a small child care program in North Conway.  During my time as a toddler teacher, I went back to school to complete my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.  I taught toddlers and directed for 8 years before deciding to return to school once again to obtain my teaching certification.  While completing my teaching certification in K-3 general and special education I took a position as a paraprofessional for a child with autism at Ossipee Central School and most recently, a position as the site director for the after school program.

I have always had a connection to Madison Elementary School.  My husband and I have participated in the Holiday Craft Fair for several years now.  In the spring of 2015, I took a position as a long term substitute as a K-3 special education teacher.

Teaching is a passion for me and I can't imagine doing anything else!  I love when a student has an "AHA" moment and finally grasps a concept or skill!  I learn something new from my students daily!

I spent my early years living in Tewksbury, MA and moved to Derry, NH in 1985. I live in Chocorua with my husband.  I have been in the Mount Washington Valley since 2001 and I can't imagine living anywhere else.

Mrs. Arsenault

I grew up in Ipswich, MA but moved to NH full time about 10 years ago. I have my B.S in Zoology from the University of Vermont. I then went on to get my Masters in Education/Special Education from Plymouth State University. I taught at GWRSD from 2014-2021. I have taught fifth grade, 6th grade and 7th grade science. I took a couple years off to be there for my son. I live in Tuftonboro with my husband, son, step-daughter, dog, two cats and some chickens. I have a passion for everything to do with the outdoors and love to hike, go bird watching and kayak. I am very excited to get back to what I love to do!!
