The LCBDD offers a multitude of services including vocational training, habilitation, recreational activities, residential services, respite care, and waiver services.
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD/BVR)
OOD is the state agency that helps people with disabilities find opportunities. The Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR) operates within the OOD and helps people with disabilities find meaningful work. Anyone can refer a person to OOD by telephone, in writing, or through a visit to the local office. Services can include career counseling, continuing education, specialized job training, job placement and follow-up to help you to be successful on the job. The main goal of BVR is to see people employed independently in the community. Many students with IEPs will be eligible for services.

Beginning at age 18, students with a disability can obtain an Ohio Buckeye Card application at any library and many senior centers. The person receiving the card needs to be present and needs to bring a state ID along with one of the following: Medicare card, State certification of a disability or SSD/SSI acceptance.
