Ricardo Cunha-Vaz

Founding partner and Director

Ricardo Cunha-Vaz, co-founder and partner at Menlo Capital, has over 20 years experience in business management and companies investment. 

Before co-founding Menlo Capital in 2012, Ricardo has served in the board of directors of several companies like Servilusa, Critical Health, Tema, Hospor and Vista Alegre Atlantis Group. 

Regarding private equity investments, Ricardo has served as a Director of 3i Group plc in Portugal and has also made several personal investments.

Ricardo Cunha-Vaz began his career at McKinsey & Company in 1992. 

Ricardo graduated in Economics from the London School of Economics, has an MA in Economics from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business

Gonçalo de Mello

Founding partner and Director

Gonçalo de Mello, co-founder and partner at Menlo Capital, has extensive management experience in the Iberian small and medium enterprises, having managed several companies with revenues ranging from € 10M to € 100M (Quicom, Quimitécnica, Fisipe and Fisipe Barcelona).

Before co-founding Menlo Capital in 2012, Gonçalo worked for 15 years in his own Family Business, Grupo José de Mello, where he knew dozens of family owned businesses and therefore understands the concerns and goals of family owners and business founders.

Gonçalo graduated in Economics from the University of Lausanne and has a Masters in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
