Spelling - word search
Dear Second Grade Families,
I wanted to check in with a few reminders/updates.
Homework – Students are expected to copy their homework down each day (before we have snack). Their planners are notebooks we colored orange. I will also post the homework on our class website. In addition, every Monday I will attach this week’s spelling words. Spelling homework will be as follows:
Monday – write each word 3 times; Tuesday – write each word in a sentence; Wednesday – word search or abc order (will be specified in homework); Thursday – study for test. Students are instructed to keep their spelling list in their green homework folder. Students will have math homework most nights, and soon I will be introducing their reading log.
*Students who do not complete their homework, or leave their homework at home will lose recess time.
Math – We have a math test scheduled for next Thursday, October 5th. It will include everything you have seen on the homework thus far- place value, comparing numbers, different forms of a number (word form, standard form, expanded form), ordering numbers, and patterns. We will review in class, but students are also encouraged to study for their test at home.
Fun Run – Track practice for the Fun Run starts Monday from 4:15 to about 5:20.
