E-Learning Explanation and Plan:
E-Learning stands for "Electronic Learning" and has been devised by the ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) and our district to replace unexpected school cancellations/closures such as inclement weather. No longer will these emergency days be built into our district's school calendar and made up at the end of the year when implemented. These "E-Learning" days will be similar to what has always been referred to as "Remote or Distance Learning" within our district.Â
Since student Chromebooks are typically kept at Metropolis Elementary, students will be expected to complete the school work sent home in packets prior to called E-learning day. Work will be collected upon our return to school. Students will be given credit for attendance and assignments based upon their completion. Teachers will be available during school hours (8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) whether to provide assistance with the assignments to be completed during the day's home learning, or to answer questions. Please contact the appropriate teacher through email or Remind app. I can be reached at ahicks@massac.org or through our REMIND. You can join the MES 6th Grade group by texting @abcmes123 to 81010.
