Reminders:

• NO SCHOOL- Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day

• A weekly written spelling test will be given on Friday. This week's words to study: Word List 3: Long E- spelled ea, ie, i (list can be accessed below).

• IXL topics have been assigned for weekly class practice and extra credit. Smart goal achievement should be 80 or higher to receive credit. (IXL link and list of skills can be accessed below). This week's skills to work on are shortcuts: FNT, WA8, 52H, TKB

• Please sign and return Parent Star Reports sent home with students concerning their results on the first benchmark test.

Language: Students will practice punctuating quotations and dialogue

Wednesday, September 2nd

Reading: Read Esperanza Rising Chapter 3 "Los Higos"

Writing: Students will revise their one moment they were nervous using precise details to show this emotion. 

Language: Students will practice revising sentences using a stronger verb (IXL practice: TKB)
