- Use when describing colors. Instead of saying that her eyes were blue, say that they were cerulean with splashes of emerald.

- Note that quite a few of the figures of speech on this "Periodic Table" you will not learn until high school. You are only required to reference the terms that you are already familiar with or have learned in school (and of course feel free to learn new figures of speech!)
