English I

Freshman literature is an introduction to the high school English program. It bridges the gap between eighth grade “reading” and high school “literature,” a step students often find difficult to make. In English I students must learn to read in depth. Students will also be expected to write more objective, academic themes. M.L.A. documentation will be introduced. Critical thinking and writing as a process will be emphasized.
