Over the course of the next nine months, we will embark on an intensive study of American Literature.
Together we will travel back in time and explore the cultures and literary eras of early Americans. These will include the origins of the American tradition of the 1800 and The Scarlet Letter; slavery and the Civil War and Fahrenheit 451; the Early Twentieth-Century and The Great Gatsby; the Post-War Era and more. We will explore historical time periods that inspired several liturgical movements including Transcendentalism, Realism, and Modernism.
Both fiction and nonfiction pieces are not only read for comprehension but analyzed for historical, societal, and literary implications. I am excited to share this journey with you and should you have any questions or concerns, let me know.
