About Mr. Kusche

I graduated from Hopkins High School in 2007, and continued my education at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. During my time at the UofM I participated in Campus Orchestra, Jazz II, Symphonic Band, and the Pride of Minnesota, the University of Minnesota Marching Band.

During college I worked as a marching band director in Chisago Lakes in 2008, and in Maple Grove from 2010-present. It was amazing to have that opportunity to reaffirm that I was going to school for what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

After college I spent a year subbing in the West metro before accepting the job as the band director at Spectrum High School in Elk River. During my time there I worked with a 6-12 band program, and started a jazz band.

During my free time my number priority is hanging out with my 4-year-old Australian Shepherd mix, Rowdy. Rowdy’s preferred game is fetch, but he also likes running away from me, chasing birds, and barking at golf carts. My second biggest passion in life, after music, is Gopher Athletics. I have missed three Gopher football games since I was in 6th grade. One of them I was playing in my own football game, one of them was my high school homecoming game, and one of them I had swine flu.
