The vertical antenna (labeled "7300 Vertical") is a 23ft vertical mast connected to an SGC SG-230 Smartuner.
It will tune 160m through 6m (although not specifically advertised for 6m, it does tune).
Currently, the tuner is powered whenever the radio power supply is turned on. It will attempt to tune any time transmit RF is detected and SWR is outside its preset limit. Because the active feed of the antenna is so close to the roof, DO NOT OPERATE THIS ANTENNA WHEN SNOW IS ON THE ROOF, OR DURING AN ACTIVE SNOW STORM. Take a look at the roof over the clean space when you come up the stairs. If there's snow on that roof, there's likely snow on the brick building roof. We may amend this guideline once we have more operating experience.
You are more than welcome to use this antenna with your own radio if you'd like (100W or less). Note - the biggest risk to this setup is a high SWR to the radio. USE WITH YOUR OWN RADIO AT YOUR OWN RISK!
The control cable is spliced to a Cat 5 cable with the following mapping (the Cat 5 "pair" means both the color/white and white/color twisted wires were connected together and spliced to the Tuner wire):
Tuner -> Cat 5
+12VDC (Red wire) -> Orange Pair
Ground (Black wire) -> Blue Pair
SmartLock control line (Red/White wire) -> Brown Pair
Remote Tuned Indicator (Black/White wire) -> Green Pair
