Welcome to AEP 800: Innovative Technology Integration
AEP 800 is designed to meet the needs of various graduate students, including P12 educators, community college instructors, adult educators, or corporate trainers. You will be exposed to various concepts and topics regarding technology and a host of technologies that will engage, enhance, and improve your teaching and learning concerning instructional technology.
Please note that there are multiple instructors for this course, so double-check your course section (e.g., VA, VB, etc.) and make sure you are communicating with and checking emails from that instructor. Your initial email from your instructor on the first day of classes will guide you through the course and all the materials, providing the link to the discussion board.
Instructor expectations are to (1) adhere to the directions of each assignment; (2) gain permission before you deviate from the directions; (3) attempt to use only free, browser-based digital tools; (4) manage your time well - there is a lot to do in a short amount of time; (5) adhere to the use of the APA 7 Template Google Doc to format where applicable; and (6) learn from one another while having fun experimenting and trying new things! It's your time to play, explore, and be the learner! We are about progress over perfection!
AEP 800 Assignment Information and Grading
Specifics are located on the AEP 800 Syllabus; however, below is a helpful glance.
All communication with your Instructor should take place via their FHSU Email address listed on the syllabus, not Blackboard messaging.
All course assignments can be found under the Assignments tab above and:
will be graded via a rubric with a maximum possible of 50 to 60 pts (additional feedback may or may not be given as the rubric is fairly specific - use it to guide you before each submission)
Discussions and projects are worth 50 or 60 points (note the tabs at the bottom of the Rubric Sheet)
Intro video (40 pts) and peer reviews are worth 30-45 points, as the standards are not required to be embedded
will be due by 11:59 pm on the date listed on the Assignment Due Dates & Checklist.
pts will be deducted for being late (most significant penalty deduction) unless you contact your instructor as soon as possible and communicate
pts will be deducted for failure to embed standards or citations as indicated in the assignment properly
pts will be deducted for not following directions - unless you contact the instructor before your submission
pts will be deducted if you cannot adhere to APA expectations (e.g., only DB #2 and the two-part Transference Reflection document)
pts will be deducted if you are not engaging in meaningful, genuine, and organic conversations with your peers
pts will be deducted for weak submission(s) based on the rubric
Points will not be awarded for plagiarism or computer-generated work submitted as your own (e.g., AI/ChatGPT). Use all tools as a tool and not a replacement for quality learning and teaching. We value your original insight, experiences, questions, and sharing. See Syllabus on AI use/guidelines and the AEP Department Policy.
In other words, you begin with a perfect score, and it is up to you to keep your score at its highest level!
Due to FHSU technology policies, the only email that can be associated with a student account is the official @mail.fhsu.edu address. Likewise, course materials accessible via this site will only be available through your FHSU student Gmail. This is to protect our materials from unnecessary risks associated with various personal email accounts, such as Outlook and Gmail (non-domain-related). Your FHSU Gmail account has additional security measures built in and will be yours after graduation.
