Course Information

Information for Fall 2019 online classes will be e-mailed to your (registered students) CCSF e-mail account approximately one week prior to the beginning of the fall term (City Online begins on Tuesday, September 3).  There are no required on-campus meetings for SOC 1, SOC 35, or SOC 3 classes, inclusive of exams.  On campus orientation meeting available by appointment; please contact me  using either Canvas e-mail or school e-mail (ablock@ccsf.edu) to make arrangements.   Orientation materials will be available on Canvas (CCSF's online class platform) once the term begins.

Students registered for SOC. 1 section 831 (CRN: 71326), SOC 35 section 831 (CRN: 77649), and/or SOC 3 section 831 (CRN: 77255) FALL term will be able to access the course via CCSF Canvas on the first day of this class -- Tuesday, September 3, 2019.  Note that the class will not be available until the first official weekday of the FALL term. The City Online fall term runs from September 3 - December 20, 2019. (City Online: https://online.ccsf.edu/classes/)

Information about adding one of these classes:  If the class is full when you attempt to register for it, I recommend that you register for the waitlist for the section you are wanting to add.  If there is space on the wait list you will be offered that option during the registration process.  Getting on the wait list is the only way to have the possibility of adding once the class is full; I do not keep a separate wait list beyond the official waiting list for these classes.  If the wait list is full, I recommend checking back daily as people do drop off the list for various reasons.  Please see Waitlist FAQ for more detail about the CCSF wait list process.

In closing, I recommend that you also visit CCSF's Distance Learning website to prepare for your online learning experience (this link includes a link to an online learning preparedness assessment).  This site has a number of very helpful resources and information to consider before class starts, especially if you are new to online learning.

Fall office hours.  I will be available by e-mail and by appointment this semester.  Note -- all e-mail will be returned within 24 hours with the exception of weekends and holidays.
