Social Studies Weekly & GLAD
LVUSD uses Social Studies Weekly as our curriculum. SSW is a weekly newspaper written for history and state standards. I am also a GLAD (guided language acquisition) teacher, and use GLAD strategies to teach social studies. These strategies are meant to help students acquire complex language of the discipline while accessing content.
Writing
Writer's Workshop
Writer's Workshop is a writing program aimed at giving students the experience of the true author's process. Students build stamina, work on craft, and also learn what it is to self-inspire. All students will work on narrative, opinion, and informational pieces throughout the school year.
Mathematics
iReady
The LVUSD adopted math curriculum is iReady. This is a Common Core aligned curriculum, and strongly digital. We will be working together this year to discover what iReady has in store for us!

Great Body Shop
Our adopted health curriculum is The Great Body Shop. Students receive a magazine each month that focuses on one of our health standards. The primary focus in fourth grade is on health, taking care of the body, and how body systems work.
