1. Plan: I think about my task and how I will complete my project
What am I supposed to do?
What will a "good job" look like?
What information do I need?
Where will I get my information?
What is my plan?
2. Do: I do my work.
I get the information I need from books, websites and other resources.
I put my information together.
I might read, draw pictures, .use the computer, or write what I find.
I cite my sources.
3. Review: I check my work to make sure it is complete.
Is my job done?
Did I do what I was supposed to?
Is everything correct?
Did I cite my sources?
Do I feel good about my work?
Do I need to do anything else before I turn it in?
Let's be Editors!
What is EDITING? What do we look for when we EDIT Informational Text?
Does our writing have a clear beginning, middle, and end?
Does it have a strong INTRODUCTION that grabs our reader in the beginning?
Does it have good and TRUE details in the middle?
Does it have a strong ending?
Are the words spelled correctly?
Am I using my own words? (book, brain, paper)
Do any sentences repeat? If they repeat, can we remove or replace the repeating sentences?
Are there any details or ideas I can add to make my writing better?
