We will be developing the five areas of language during our language arts block. Phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. This will happen through daily phonological awareness activities (rhyming, word families, etc.), phonics instruction through the Orton Gillingham method, practice reading using leveled text, Reading Mastery text and AR to increase and develop fluency; and finally vocabulary development done by introducing rich language within every aspect of the above.
