Hometown:
I grew up in the small beach village of Lonelyville, Fire Island, NY. I enjoy spending time with my family each summer on the quiet, carless, sleepy, sandy beach town. I spent much of my early life fishing, surfing, biking, boating, and working on the island each summer. To islanders like me, nothing is more exotic than towering mountains of Colorado.
Education:
I studied physical therapy at Northeastern University in Boston and worked as a physical therapy assistant for a few years before switching to the University of Massachusetts at Boston in order to complete a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry. After working in biotech for a few years, I began studying at George Mason University and completed a master's of secondary education in science instruction. I took a local teaching job to pay for my study in molecular biology but decided to keep teaching instead. I taught chemistry for many years at Lakewood High in Colorado while completing certifications and earning licenses in both drinking water and wastewater operations. I currently work and live here at Heritage, my neighborhood school.
Family, Hobbies:
My wife Becky is a physical therapist, she attended Northeastern in Boston for all her degrees. She grew up in the small beach town of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. We have 3 children who attend Littleton schools. We all enjoy camping, skiing, and biking. My son enjoys playing soccer, and the girls love gymnastics.
