The competition Drill Team/Color Guard is one of the main competitive teams in Lowndes AFJROTC. Led by the commanders listed below, each cadet within the teams are taught discipline and how to drill beyond what is taught in the classroom, to include drilling with drill rifles and flags. They are also taught exhibition drill, which is a non-regulation drill invented by the cadets and the instructors. They then go to four competitions each year to demonstrate what they have learned, and bring home victories for LHS.
February 2nd was our own Drill Meet. We hosted eight teams, and brought home numerous awards including 2nd place in the commander's challenge, 2nd place in Unarmed Exhibition, 3rd place in both unarmed and armed regulation. Cadets Tiffany Jones and Jalen Bell also won outstanding commander's awards. Cadet Jeremy Troiano also won 2nd place in the Individual Drill Response out of over 150 cadets! Congratulations to the Drill Team and Color Guards for a job well done!
