SCHOLARSHIPS

LONE STAR GATOR CLUB® SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

One of our goals is to support the academic goals of students from Central Texas attending the University of Florida. We do this each year by funding partial 1-year scholarships

Club fundraising in the past decade was so successful that the we were able to open an endowed scholarship through the University of Florida Foundation, which we named in honor of late longtime Lone Star Gator Club member and officer, Brad Bradford. We supplement the endowment each year through local efforts like our Pledge For Points fundraiser and raffles.

This year, the Lone Star Gator Club® provided scholarships of $1500 each to three deserving students.

2023-2024 SCHOLARS

ANVITHA DHULIPALA

Year: Freshman

A NOTE FROM ANVITHA:

Hi! My name is Anvitha Dhulipala and I’m super excited to receive the LSGC scholarship! I am attending UF this fall as a Microbiology major and plan to study pre-med. Some things I like to do include trying new foods, hanging out with friends, playing the piano, and I also work as a swim instructor for children. I am looking forward to fun and new experiences in the future!

Receiving this scholarship will help me throughout my many experiences at UF. I’m excited to learn new things and be put into new situations. This scholarship will also help me with many resources as I make my journey to Medical School. Overall, I am very honored to receive this scholarship and am excited to see the many different ways I can flourish as a gator!

ETHEN SIMS

  Year: Sophomore

A NOTE FROM ETHEN:

I’m Ethen Sims, a rising sophomore at UF. I’m majoring in Sport Management and minoring in Jazz and Spanish. This is my second year participating in club baseball. I’m a catcher and will also be a manager for the D2 team. I’m excited to be the UF Navigator Sports and Recreation Chair this fall and help connect international students with American Gators through the culture of sport. I will continue to play trumpet in the UF jazz band this fall and look forward to many more musical memories.

I’m very grateful to receive this scholarship from the LSGC. Having some financial pressure off my shoulders helps me focus on my academics and my extra curricular activities in Gainesville. I’m excited to work at RecSports this fall and the money I earn from my job plus the scholarship will help me enormously. Being a Gator means everything to me and I’ve wanted to go to UF since I was a kid and I’m truly living my dream. I’ve had a fantastic freshman year at Florida and can’t wait for the new opportunities that await me my sophomore year.

JORDAN BIRNBAUM

Year: Freshman

A NOTE FROM JORDAN:

My name is Jordan Birnbaum and I am a second generation Gator, so Florida pride runs strong in my household. I recently graduated from Anderson High School and spent much of the past few years pursuing my passion for working with ESL students in the immigrant community. Upon arriving at UF, I will study business administration with a potential double major in Spanish, as I hope to pursue immigration law as a career path. I am thrilled to be a part of the Gator Nation and cannot wait to attend my dream school in the Fall!
