Fetal Pig Dissection and Practical

Unfortunately (I think...), we don't have real human cadavers to work on in this class to study anatomy. So, we've gone to the next best thing...pigs. In fact, pigs are so anatomically similar to us that there have been successful pig heart transplants in human beings. Amazing, huh?!?

Here you will find everything pertaining to your fetal pig dissection and final lab practicals. In fact, I believe the links to the sites are far better than the binders provided to you in class because all of the pictures are typically in color. Remember, as with humans, no two pigs are exactly the same. You need to learn anatomy in reference to other organs, don't just memorize where the structures are on your pig!
