This is not your ordinary science class! If all goes according to plan, I hope that you find it to be the coolest, most practical and relevant learning experience you’ve ever had. If you are truly driven to learn more about your body and the food you put into it, I think you’ll find this course to be life-changing. As long as you’re on board, I can promise to deliver three things to you over the course of this semester: ① I will get you more excited about health and nutrition than you ever thought possible, ② I’ll help clear up all the lies and misconceptions that the food industry feeds to us on a daily basis (both literally and figuratively), and ③ I’ll help you create a personalized health plan that is grounded in science, which will guide your nutritional and fitness choices long into the future.
Please be prepared to be challenged in this class, as I have high expectations of all of my students to achieve to the best of their ability. I do my best to differentiate my teaching in order to reach all learners, and as such, I will be covering and assessing course content in a variety of different ways: lecture, interactive games, projects, labs, presentations, essays, research papers, quizzes, and more.
