NEIBA Large Group Festival – Required 8th Grade Band Performance (during school day)

Excelsior’s eighth grade band will participate in the annual Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association (NEIBA) Large Group Festival on Friday, February 7.  They will perform at 12:40 pm in the Concert Hall at Prairie High School.  They will receive written and verbal comments from two judges who will work with the band and give a division rating.  Parents are welcome to attend our free performance!  If you would be willing to chaperone for this event, please let Mr. Davies know.  We also need a volunteer with a truck or large SUV who would be willing to pick up large instruments from Excelsior, meet us at Prairie High School, then return them to Excelsior.  If you would be willing, please let Mr. Davies know. 

Students will change in to their concert attire (details below) before leaving Excelsior.  They should bring concert clothes to school on February 7.

We will go to the Pizza Ranch in Marion for lunch before our performance.  The cost for the Pizza Ranch buffet is $10.99.  Students are welcome to bring a sack lunch if they prefer.  We encourage you to complete payment through the Payments and Purchases link in PowerSchool.  Please select “Excelsior Band Pizza Ranch Lunch” to pay.  You may also send a check made out to Linn-Mar Community School District (no cash if possible, no change available, turn in to main office) on or before Tuesday, February 4.  If funds are a challenge, just let Mr. Davies know and we’ll be more than happy to help!  There will be limited time for games, but students may bring extra money if they wish to play any games before we depart for Prairie.
