Diane is a product of Cleveland Ohio, "Rock n Roll Capital of the World" which is where her big beautiful Hansen/Saul family live to this day. In 1976 at 20 years old she took to the road thumbing her way anywhere west. On October 1,1977, she ran out of money in Lincoln, Montana. With no funds, she got immediate work planting trees for the F.S., bumping knots for a jippo logger, made beds at the motel, mowed grass, ran a daycare, waited tables, cooked, cooked some more, played music in a Music Festival, met a man, got married and had 3.2 kids (dogs .2!) Dillon-34, Alex-33, and Angela-24. She built a home in 1992. When Alex was ready for kindergarten, she landed the job at Lincoln Public Schools as Head Cook. It was a dream come true; a love affair with food, the kids and all they bring to the table. She has dished up for most of the staff that were once students here in Lincoln as well! In her spare time she breathes in the day and catches up with her kids now that they are grown. She loves to travel east for visits with family as they all get older. She ponders most things and enjoys her space here in this big beautiful country. On nice summer days, she plays guitar/ukulele on the back porch with Paige the notsomuchapuppyanymore. Paige is a simple listener and never has requests that Diane doesn’t know!! At 64 years old this year, she still feels like she did when she first landed the job with Lincoln school district, in August 1992! Blessed!!
